Basic Portuguese course with a strong cultural component
This 30-hour course is ideal for those who are planning to move to Portugal and want to be able to speak and understand the basics in order to “survive the first few months and not starve”. The expected final level will be A2 or B1, depending on the student's work and personal commitment. The particularity of this course is that the teaching of Portuguese has a strong practical aspect and goes hand in hand with introducing the student to the cultural customs and traditions of the people. For example, since the Portuguese run on caffeine, did you know that there are around 20 common ways to order coffee in a coffee shop? And what is the Portuguese culinary tradition (such as ordering in the restaurant exactly what you want and not what you guess)? Do you know that the Portuguese mostly use the word “mar” to refer to the ocean, although they know the word ocean perfectly well?
Since coffee is a sacred drink for the Portuguese and the use of Portuguese learned there, the student will receive a lot of historical/cultural information about the country to help him/her better integrate and understand the country and its people.

Pack of 4 lessons ideal for those who already have a good basic level of Portuguese but need to increase their vocabulary and conversation in a specific professional area, for example: Portuguese for Sales, Medicine, Automotive, Veterinary, Agriculture, etc. I prepare a pack of material for any specialty requested in advance. The requirement for this course is that the student's command of Portuguese should ideally be at least B2, but I accept students who know Portuguese at B1 level.

5.“Moving to Portugal” Intensive Course
Consisting of 40 hours divided into thematic blocks, this course is ideal for those who are planning to move to Portugal and want to arrive already knowing the basics so as not to “starve”. The final target level is B1 or B2. The result will depend largely on the student's autonomous work. Faster acquisition of the language requires not only the preparation of more practical, graphic and concise material, but above all a minimum daily dedication of 45 minutes to studying the language. The student will receive all the support material and guidance for working at home. Daily self-study is an essential condition for the success of the course. The particularity of this course is that the teaching of Portuguese has a strong practical aspect and goes hand in hand with the teaching of some of the country's specific customs and practices. For example, you'll learn how to order a coffee in Portugal, considering that the Portuguese run on caffeine, and that there are about 20 common ways to order coffee in a coffee shop. And you'll learn why the Portuguese usually say “mar” when they're referring to the ocean. And you'll learn the basics of Portuguese culinary translations, so you don't have to guess what to order in a restaurant and pray that it's what you think it is. The price of the course includes all teaching materials.
